JD's Mindless Meanderings
It's pretty simple. There's just not enough space allowed on FaceBook for me to give my un-edubacated opinion so I blabber here!

Our President or just some people's President? from a business owner's perspective.
The way he is pushing his "jobs" agenda is, if you are a police officer, firemen, teacher construction worker or other union worker, this jobs act is going to put you to work. What about the other 89% of the country?
He talks of tax breaks for small business. He is offering a tax credit of $5,000 for hiring a new employee and keeping them on the job for a year. Let's see, I'm going to hire someone for say $60,000 a year plus pay their benefits which ends up to be more like $90,000 and I'm going to not have to pay taxes on $5,000 of my gross? Oh shit! Where can I sign up? Not to mention the fact, because of the economy being in the tank, I have no need to hire any employees at this time because he is planning on taking me to the cleaners in every other aspect of my business. His policies have made it all but impossible for me to get cheap energy because of the thousands of regulations they have imposed on energy concerns. None of which has gone through congress by the way.
No drilling here! We'll let the Russians drill off Cuba!
I know he is responsible for the protests in our cities by dividing this country between the haves and have nots. His policies are slowly turning us into a country where success is punished and the folks that are hurt the most are the folks that can afford it the least.
I own a company to provide for me and my family, not to hire other people. If my business is doing well enough to warrant hiring other American workers than that's just icing on the cake. It's not my responsibility to pay John's mortgage because his job moved overseas do to over tax and regulation. I am solely responsible for me. Get it?
My taxes, which I pay way too much of, go toward helping those, that through sickness or injury, can't work or can't make enough to get by.
I give freely to non-profit concerns such as my church who in turn help those less fortunate. This will no longer be a tax deduction for me and as a result, I will no longer be able to give freely.
His Obama Care has made it 15% more expensive to hire new employees because of new insurance regulation costs and most have yet to be implemented.
I can go on and on on why I am going out of business, but right now, I have to head down to Wall Street and join all the rest of the ill informed non-voting public and wait for my free money.
Former business owner.

Casey Anthony
My first point would be that the prosecution was woefully inept in that they totally over-reached. Had they gone with manslaughter or something of a lesser charge, other than murder one, they may have had a conviction.
Both the mother and father were both caught in lies diminishing both of their testimonies.
The prosecution relied on totally unproven science in a couple instances such as the Death Odor. The hair found in the trunk, said to be post mortem, was also shown to be an unreliable piece of evidence.
Ok, so what do I think? You really want to know?.
I think that there may be some truth to the abuse by the father theory although probably not sexual but more controlling than anything else. I could be way off here but everyone else is spouting and this is my blog so I'm spouting too. This still does nothing to explain the poor little girl's death but could help to explain the twisted disregard of her lifeless body relegated to a trash bag.
I find it hard to believe that a mother, no matter how good or lousy she was at being one, could kill her daughter to obtain freedom from responsibility.
Perhaps it was an accident that the father helped cover up. Maybe the father had zero to do with it. We'll never know.
Had the state not been so zealous in the prosecution and instead gone for manslaughter, more than likely, Casey Anthony would be spending the next 10 years in prison instead of working on a book deal.
I am just as pissed about the injustice in this case as the next person, but not because she isn't getting the death penalty, because no one is going to pay for this crime other than Caylee.
And that's my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Looking back
Well I decided to look back over the the posts since the beginning to evaluate my progress on the road to becoming a "grown up."
The first post is actually pretty funny!
Anyhoo, I am debating as to whether I should start a running commentary on the GOP side of the upcoming 2012 presidential race.
You should know that that is the side of the fence I fall on.
For starters, I don't want to offend my liberal friends, which are numerous, but this will be more a comic relief than a serious critique.
I will not swear to everything being posted as original thought but it will definitely have my color commentary.
For starters. Forgit Mitt! He's too McCain. Romney care? Look at the mess it's made with cost overruns in MA.
He believes in man made global warming. He's too nice and good looking to be the GOP nominee.
Sarah Palin has everything conservatives are looking for
Ditto Bachman. I would love to see a 1 on 1 debate between either of them and our President, minus the teleprompter. Let's see who's really stupid. Well, to be fair, my President ain't stupid, just wrong headed.
Remember, I am conservative.
I would take Bill if we could get this economy turned around but when my President is against coal, gas and every other fossil fuel source, it's time for CHANGE!
How's that wind power working for ya?
You're more than welcome to post comments or insults. This will be fun. Btw. She never said, "I can see Russia from my house. " That was Tina and pretty funny. The problem
arises when the media reports comedy as fact.
That's who the GOP candidate will be running against, Barrack and the media.
So let the games begin!

Just thinking out loud
I was thinking (that in itself is problematic) where I would be had I not moved to Delray Beach.
I know I would be much colder but other than that?
Probably would still be playing out on weekends at least.
I truly miss my friends but mostly stay in touch. Most are still on the correct side of the sod, myself included.
It has not exactly been a vacation here. While the weather is a lot better there is still a constant reminder of your mortality everywhere you turn down here. This is truly God's waiting room.
I have found a truly great friend that I can count on being there to lend an ear. That goes both ways.
I have finally started getting back into music on the entertainment side. Most people here had no idea that I could even whistle. The break did me a lot of good in that I finally cracked the "Writer's Block" thing.
Music is just oozing everywhere. I really need to get a fix on a water proof recorder. Most of the great ideas come in the shower. Jackie wonders why I rush from the shower to the studio in such a hurry. : )
Caitlyn has grown into a young woman and has learned how to use a gun. (Her boyfriend is a US Marine)
I can put mine back in the closet.
One other thing I have gained since moving to my new hometown. 5 dogs 4 of which are boxers rescued from the brink along with Caitlyn's genius Rottweiler wanna be who can open regular door knobs, 2 cats (rescued) and 2 guinea pigs named Chewy and Louie.
So, I have a busy day just attending to the zoo.
I have to say that it's still much easier than taking care of one child. If one of them gets out, it's really not a big deal unless it's the pigs. That could be a massacre.
If you need to run to the store you can just put the trouble makers in the kennel. I don't think you can do that with kids. Then again, who would know?
All in all, I love our little neighborhood and friends here. I miss all of you in the great north. Miss you brother and my bro in Kauai.
I hope this was a little lighter. Now you'll have to excuse me. I must attend to laundry and a dirty ceiling fan.

Guns and Nutjobs
I have already heard the moron sheriff give his opinion. Is this guy for real? Sarah Palin? Come on dude! You have no doubt heard it. Right wing talk show hosts stirred this idiot into a frenzy and caused him to shoot and kill six people and seriously injure several others. The left is using this as political fodder to shut down opposing opinion. (their stated goal, not mine)
It is legal to carry a holstered gun in Arizona. All that is required to purchase a hand gun is proof of legal residency such as a driver's license. Thousands of responsible Arizonans carry guns both visible and concealed. They are both Democrat and Republican. Is there a history of incidence such as this past weekend? No. Why? Because almost every gun owner, 99.9999% , follow the laws regarding gun ownership and carry them responsibly. This guy was, is, a nut case. If it wasn't a gun it would have been a knife or a bomb. Bombs are outlawed but yet they still are made and used to kill people. I am so sick of the left using tragedy to point the finger and lay blame at the feet of the right. Sarah Palin had as much to do with this weekend's tragedy as you or I did. Neither her name or Rush's or Sean Hannity's name were even mentioned in this assholes writings.
Guns are made to protect. Guns are made to kill those that would otherwise kill us.
Gun ownership is a right and a responsibility that all of us without criminal records or history of violent behavior have. It's your choice to make. I would sleep better at night knowing that my friends and loved ones have that protection. Not everyone shares this sentiment.
It is better to have one and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Your thoughts?

Sorry I haven't written lately
Christmas was awesome! I pretended I was 4 and loved the adult shit I got. I picked most of it out. (HeeHee)
I do miss the snow at Christmastime but I don't really need it any other time of year. Were I to get some (snow) in August in Delray Beach I would love it though.
Been doing an open mic in Boynton Beach on Wednesday nights at The Living Room. Have met a few potential band members.
Had a great New Years and all that.
I want to give a special shout out to Gayle and Tim Taylor who had us over every Sunday throughout the Bills season to watch the game and play some pool. The latter was awesome, the former, not so much. (game and pool that is)
I'll never forget that they opened their home to us. We had lots of good food and wine and Venga (look it up Thurman)
I am still in a hole but can see the top. (Thank God) Thanks for the encouragements. (You know who you are)
Life in all is good as long as I keep everything in perspective. I miss my friends in Buffalo but hope they all make it down here eventually. (To live)
We can rock the house then.
All for now. Promise to bore you more often.
Love
